Some seeds do not produce typical Sugar Ann pods

Have planted Seeds n Such Sugar Ann snap pea seeds for several years, rotating location of crop. In recent years, a few of the plants have clearly not been Sugar Ann. The plants produce a flat snow pea type pod that is tough and inedible. Am wondering if others have had this experience or if Seeds "n Such has an explanation.
