Growing Information

Growing Snackabelle Red Hybrid Pepper

‘Snackabelle Red’ is a compact mini-bell pepper prized for its thick, juicy walls and patio-friendly growth. Rounded shoulders and a blunt base surround an easy-to-remove seed core, making these rich, colorful fruits especially convenient in the kitchen.

Start ‘Snackabelle Red’ indoors for transplanting or sow directly where conditions allow. Plant seeds about ¼ inch deep, space plants 24 to 36 inches apart, and grow in full sun. Compact plants reach about 1 to 1½ feet and are well suited to smaller gardens.

Ready to harvest in about 70 days, pick fruits once they reach their mature size and color.

Juicy, compact, and versatile, ‘Snackabelle Red’ is excellent for snacking, fresh eating, stuffing, sautéing, grilling, and everyday cooking.

HOT pepper, NOT snackabelle.

I planted all of the seeds and they all grew into the same plant. The peppers are small and compact, but don't look anything like a snackabelle and more importantly they are surprisingly hot, seems like they're in the 10,000 to 20,000 scoville range since they seem very similar in heat to serrano peppers. I was expecting a sweet snacking pepper, but got a hot surprise.
