2022 AAS Winner. Chosen for excellence in beauty, taste, and performance (150 to 200 fruits per plant)! Judges declared, “Overall, this tomato has a better taste and thinner skin than comparisons with excellent disease resistance.” Deep red skin with green striations covers moderately firm flesh of vivid mahogany red, rather than muddled hues associated with many dark tomato varieties. Wonderfully balanced, deep-bodied flavors whisper a mild smoky sweetness to complement the playful presentation. Purple Zebra’s adaptability is largely due to breeding for broad disease resistance. Perfect salad or snack companion.

Great flavor!

Excellent flavor, moderately productive, moderate disease tolerance, crack resistant, uniform size and quality fruit. Not a large fruit but among the best for consistent flavor and quality. Never cat faced, great tomato for south east Pennsylvania.

Outstanding! Added to my annual grow list.

Delicious, sweet. Great for snacking and drying. Productive plants. Fruits are free of cracking and store well.

VERY hardy plant and heavy producer

I live in the Pacific Northwest in the shadow of the Cascade mountains..We don’t get a lot of sun..about 6 to 7 hours a day ..I grew these tomatoes because we have a BAD problem here with blight..We have chilly nights even on the hottest days..temps in the 50’s. Right now in September it is down to the low 40’s and we even had frost already..The plants are doing GREAT! We had an extreme drought year but this cross between the black krim and the green zebra has produced a bumper crop of very meaty..very good flavored..easy to skin and seed tomatoes..That is another thing I was looking for..Due to medical problems I can’t have seeds or the skin..This tomato has a thicker skin that peels easily and the seeds squish out nicely and leave a very meaty tomato body behind! AND IT IS YUMMY! I had good germination..nothing special..in dirt in a soup can in my south facing and off they went…I think ..no I KNOW I will grow these from now on.. No problem with blight or any disease..I LOVE this tomato..Give it a try.. I hope they do as good for you as they did for me!

New favorite!

I just harvested my first two purple zebras and I’m thrilled. One of my first producers, a beautiful tomato and it’s delicious too! Lovely texture and perfect balance of sweetness and acidity. I’ll grow these again!
